We're not in Kansas anymore Toto...

Time is short as I drop into Independence/Bishop for resupply. So for now it is just some pictures...

What do you wear after summiting the highest mountain in the contiguous United States!? A mariachi outfit of course!

Lightning and Liz (trampon) coming down off Whitney.

It was the summer solstice so some people decided to hike naked...!

Jim and I on top of Mt Whitney.

The summit group shot.

It was a Sunday and there were lots of day hikers and JMT hikers on the Whitney trail.

Miles (Oz) showing off at 14,000ft. Bloody ultralighters!

Threeway.

Stick out to fish.

A nice photo of David (Staying Alive) for his Mum. And then some photos of him sleeping...

Two Miles.

Oz demonstrating his hand made bug shelter emergency set up procedures..

Alexandria and Molly. Mostly loud and they bicker alot but fortunately they have youth and good looks on their side!

Jim in full stride enjoying the mountains.

Horses at Chicken Spring Lake.

Rob the Ranger.

Bradley (Shake) came down a different route and decided to cross the lake to get back to camp.

Bradley again. This time stalking a jack rabbit.

Jacob (Rock City) in front of Mt Whitney.

Jim showing a couple of JMT hikers what is coming up for them. Specifically Mt Whitney!

Hanging by the river for lunch.

After Max Dupain.

Threeway is a master fly fisherman. We ate that sucker and it was delicious! Am looking forward to more of his catches.

The last switchbacks at Forester Pass.

Those same switchbacks viewed from the side.

What do you do after climbing to over 13,000ft? Have a smoke of course!

The Forester Pass group shot.

Wolf up on Forester Pass.

Molly.

Wolf and Alexandria.

A marmot.

My cowboy setup.

A beautiful alpine lake we decided to stop at and all jump in!

Staying Alive testing his mettle and staying in the water for a bit.

Hikers on switchbacks.

Bradley again.

I taught Staying Alive and Bradley how to make damper. It didn't end well. They had soap shipped with their resupply and although packed seperately, through some osmotic effect the taste of soap got into their granola. They call it granoap. We found out that it got to the flour as well... Staying Alive and Bradley are an interesting pair. But more on them later...
