Jock and the ball's up.

A significant mark passed this last section. Funnily, like the sign, it doesn't really feel that big or important. Sure, underline it with some sticks n shit but there was no fan fare...

Mammoth. Where the bears are actually a problem. On seeing the solid metal bins with bear proof latches everywhere I had a thought that I'd see my first bear in town... Sure enough about an hour later a yearling ran it's cute fat arse around the pool area of the Motel 6.

Staying Alive yogiing the last bit of an icecream off a confused kid...

We put the hat out while hackey sacking.

Two really awesome guys chipped in and had a hack. Nick.

And Brendan. Thanks dudes was a blast!

Shake.

Staying Alive got some moves!

#HikerTrash

The village in Mammoth. Was such a nice place with great food and jalapeƱo cucumber margaritas...!

Devils Postpile National Monument.

Trail tail.

Wolf and Rambo had left Mammoth much earlier than us so we were surprised when we saw them just a few miles from Reds Meadow. Apparently they thought it would be a good idea to hike the day away on the wrong trail. Luckily we met them at the junction to the PCT and the JMT. It was lucky because we took the JMT and wouldn't have seen them. For the oldies back home, the PCT follows the the John Muir Trail for quite some time in Yosemite. At this junction the PCT and JMT split for about 13 miles then rejoin. The JMT in this section goes up and down into various lakes. Absolutley beautiful. The PCT has to be suitable for horses so it takes an easier route.

Rambo.

Always hackey sack.

The JMT is crawling with hikers. JMTers consistently smelt and looked fresher than thruhikers. And I was constantly amused by what they carried...

This girl has a frying pan. On the other side there is a pillow.

Alex Mk2.

Staying Alive peeking out from the tarp.

A cute girl shooting film! #fujifilm

Must be JMTers..

As I said... The place was crawling with section hikers.

A marmot family.

Staying Alive toning the upper body. There is a theory that thruhikers are susceptible to morfing into tyrannosaurus rexs!

Shake and the bomb.

This impromptu photo shoot would later be described as "the most self-mastabatory shit I've ever seen!" Thanks Shark Hunt!

Sue D.  This is purely to help with your angina...! ;-)

Leaving Staying Alive a message which he saw but never got.

Feed that vice! Tuolumne Meadows.

Great to see Gramps and Clark Kent again. Really great.

Another dope tarp setup. I'm learning to use words like dope, dank, y'all....

This is what Superman's feet look like...

I'm pretty sure those spurs are purely for show.

Resupply boxes can hold treasures and wonderments. But it all weighs something. The juggling balls were, as we say 'hikerboxed'.

Glen Aulin was stunningly beautiful. A great high sierra camp.

We were able to work for dinner. Which was the best food I've eaten over here.

Emily and Karma.

No Trace and Unbreakable. Two truly amazing and inspirational people. Why they don't have a podcast or somesuch I don't know.

Meeting up with Harley and Chrissie coming out of Sanora Pass.

Got seven people into that Hyundai. Five with packs...!

Micka (sp?) realises he left his guitar (that his father gave him) on the side of the road. He took it really well.

Then of course the trail provides. Another car load of hikers saw it and brought it into Tahoe.

Guitar and guitarlele picked up we expand our busking options.

And I can't finish without leaving a photo of Staying Alive reclining.

But finally this post is dedicated to Jock. He will always be remembered.
